Dr. Darshan Patel graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Massachusetts – Lowell in 2013 and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree (DPT) from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in 2017 whose DPT program has consistently been ranked in the top 10 of the country. He has done clinical work at some of the country’s top hospitals including Massachusetts General Hospital, Spaulding Rehab Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He has primarily treated patients with Neurological (ie. Stroke, Brain Injury, Parkinson’s) and Orthopedic conditions.
Prior to joining Performance Spine and Sports Medicine, Dr. Patel worked as a PT at a private practice focusing on Orthopedics where he treated a variety of conditions ranging from the well-known problems of neck pain/low back pain to ankle fractures and everything in between. Dr. Patel loves outpatient orthopedics and brings out that passion in his continued growth and his interactions with his patients. He is currently participating in a two-year extensive Manual Therapy Institute Certification course to continue building his knowledge and skillset. values being able to provide each of his patients with an individualized experience focusing on their current impairments and function.
Dr. Patel is a huge sports fan and being a Boston, MA native he is a “wicked”big fan of the Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics and the New England Patriots (we forgive him). He considers himself a pizza connoisseur and is always searchingfor new pizza places to try. His other interests include hiking, playing basketball, experiencing local cuisine and traveling.
