Ed Kinsella graduated with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy Degree (DPT) from Neumann University in 2008. He is certified in the internationally renowned McKenzie Approach (Cert. MDT), which utilizes mechanical diagnosis and therapy for treatment of spine and extremity pathologies. Ed has also completed the 3 part educational series on Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMD) and Craniofacial Pathology offered by Myopain Seminars and the Physical Therapy Board of Craniofacial & Cervical Therapeutics. Ed possesses the unique knowledge base to provide effective care to this niche patient population. Ed does limit his treatment of TMD patients to those who choose conservative rehabilitation and have not had surgery. Ed is also a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer (CF-L1 Trainer). He uses the fundamental principles and movements that make up the CrossFit program safely and effectively, to help aid in the rehabilitation of his patients.
Ed offers a vast number of treatment interventions for his patients including electrical stimulation, thermal modalities, manual clinician procedures, exercise prescription and postural correction. He has experience treating a myriad of patients from athletes to the geriatric population. Ed is an active member of the McKenzie Institute U.S.A. and the American Physical Therapy Association. He is also listed in CrossFit’s public Trainer Directory. Ed takes great pride in developing personal relationships with his patients, understanding their needs and enabling them to achieve their goals. His interests include combat sports, fitness, baseball and football. Along with being a Physical Therapist, Ed is also a martial arts instructor specializing in Western Boxing and Kickboxing. Ed and his family reside locally in the Hamilton area.
